Prof. Dr. Che Suraya Haji Mohd Zin
Suraya is a professor at the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) and a Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy from University Science Malaysia, as well as a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Queensland, Australia. Following her PhD, Suraya served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Division of Social Research for Medicines and Health at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
Her expertise spans a wide array of research interests, including big data analytics in pharmacy, pharmacoepidemiology, opioid use in non-cancer pain, drug utilization studies, and advanced statistical software like STATA. Suraya has received specialized training in big data analytics, working with millions of patient records using the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD) in the UK and the SCREAM database in Sweden.
She has mentored numerous Master’s and PhD students, particularly in opioid studies involving large datasets. A prolific researcher, Suraya has authored multiple publications and presented her work at national and international conferences, showcasing her commitment to advancing the field of pharmacy and pharmacoepidemiology through impactful research.
