Dr. Augusto Afonso Guerra Júnior is Associate Prof at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, and Visiting Associate Prof of Epidemiology at the Biology and Life Sciences Division, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), Abu Dhabi, UAE.

He coordinates the Centre for HTA (CCATES/UFMG) and the Genomics Lab FarGenix/UFMG. His work integrates real-world evidence, pharmacoepidemiology, drug utilisation research, HTA, pharmacogenomics, and artificial intelligence to support evidence-informed health decision-making. He has collaborated with the Brazilian Ministry of Health, Pricing Authority, PAHO/WHO, and the World Bank on projects related to HTA and pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical policy, and use of real-world data for health policy decision-making.
