ICRS 2022 will be the 1st international conference organized by IIUM ROL FLAGSHIP PROJECT in the vibrant city of Kuala Lumpur under the theme Working together for cleaner rivers. The theme is inspired to realize the importance of bringing all stakeholders to the same forum to continue our fight for a better future for our rivers. Since rivers are not only needed by the existing population, the participation of young generation become vital to ensure the sustainable management of this natural resource. Thus, this conference is design in such a way to encourage more commitment from the different communities of different levels with the major focus on the participation of the young generation.

One active river group will be invited from each ASEAN country besides one representative from Japan, Australia and Bangladesh, respectively. They will present about their experience in addressing river pollution, people outreach programmes, etc. Besides that, registration is open for organisations and individuals to participate and present their experiences as well. On the second day, a round table discussion will be held to exchange opinions on challenges, areas of collaboration and way forward.
