About the Seminar

The International Seminar on Prophetic Leadership is a regional platform designed to bring together academics, researchers, religious officers, administrators, community leaders, policymakers, practitioners and postgraduate students to explore the principles and practices of leadership inspired by the life, character and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

The seminar seeks to provide an intellectually enriching platform for participants to gain insights into the relevance of Prophetic Leadership in addressing contemporary leadership challenges. Through knowledge sharing, scholarly discourse and meaningful engagement, the programme aims to encourage participants to reflect on ethical, values-based and transformative approaches to leadership that can be applied within academic institutions, organisations, communities and wider society.

The seminar will feature Dr. Yasir Qadhi, an internationally renowned Islamic scholar, author, speaker and thought leader, as one of its key speakers. The programme is also envisioned as a regional platform for Islamic leadership and collaboration, providing opportunities for participants from different backgrounds and sectors to exchange ideas, strengthen professional and intellectual networks, and contribute towards the advancement of Prophetic Leadership.

The seminar will be held on 8 October 2026 (Thursday), from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation (ISTAC), IIUM. The programme will be officiated by Yang Berhormat Senator Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry bin Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia.

Objectives of the Seminar

Enhance understanding of Prophetic Leadership by exploring leadership principles, values and practices derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah.

Develop ethical and values-driven leadership perspectives that can guide individuals and institutions in responding effectively to contemporary leadership challenges.

Facilitate knowledge sharing and intellectual discourse among scholars, academics, practitioners, policymakers, religious officers and community leaders on the application of Prophetic Leadership in diverse contexts.

Strengthen regional collaboration and networking by connecting individuals and organisations with shared interests in Islamic leadership, education, community development and societal transformation.

Inspire emerging leaders, particularly postgraduate students and young professionals, to develop leadership qualities grounded in integrity, compassion, wisdom, accountability and service.

At the end of the seminar, participants are expected to:
