In 2014 and 2016, the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy at IIUM successfully hosted the International Conference on Industrial Pharmacy (ICIP). Originally set for 2020, the third ICIP was rebranded as the International Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences (ICOPS) to encompass a broader spectrum within the pharmaceutical disciplines. In 2022, we collaborated with the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA), Jakarta, Indonesia. Continuing this momentum, !COPS 2023
was triumphantly held in Kuala Lumpur, featuring collaborations with numerous professional bodies, including the Controlled Release Society Malaysia Chapter (MyCRS).

As the pharmaceutical sciences advance rapidly, the impact of nanotechnology and nanomaterials is becoming increasingly significant. Recognising the transformative potential of these innovations in realising Human Society 5.0-a harmonious integration of advanced technology and human needs – the Kulliyyah of Pharmacy is poised to address these revolutionary changes.

In response, ICOPS 2025 is envisioned as a dynamic knowledge-sharing platform with the theme “Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials in Shaping Human Society 5.0”. This conference will feature a blend of presentations and exhibitions showcasing innovations from researchers and industry leaders. Additionally, it will emphasise the integration of artificial intelligence (Al) and the importance of environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles in fostering sustainable and ethical advancements in nanotechnology.
