Ethics, Science, and Sustainability: Shaping the Future of Oral Microbiology and Immunology

Prof. Dr. Omar Hasan Kasule is a senior academic, professor, and leader in medical education, with a doctorate in epidemiology from Harvard University and certification in Arabic and Islamic Studies. He has served in senior roles across the United States, Malaysia, Brunei, and Saudi Arabia, and is internationally recognized for integrating Islamic ethical values into medical education and practice.

Prof. Dr. Buğra Özen, Rector of Istanbul Health and Technology University, is an academic leader with extensive expertise in paediatric dentistry and dental sedation. He serves as Acting Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences. A former President of the Turkish Conscious Sedation Association, he has held senior academic and clinical leadership roles in Turkey and Europe and is widely recognized for his contributions to pediatric dental education, research, and sedation safety.

Prof. Dr. Izzet Yavuz is a leading pediatric dentistry scholar and academic leader at Dicle University, Turkey, with extensive experience in clinical practice, research, and academic leadership. He has held key leadership roles, leads the Ectodermal Dysplasia Group – Turkey, and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Dental and Medical Research. With over 150 publications and significant leadership experience, he is a prominent figure in dental education and research

Prof. Dr. Jukka Matinlinna is an internationally recognized expert in dental materials and biomaterials science with a distinguished academic career across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He currently serves as Professor of Applied Dental Sciences at the University of Manchester and is widely known for his leadership, research contributions, and global academic collaboration in dental education

Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Hafiz Arzmi is a microbiologist, immunologist, and inventor with expertise in biofilms, microbiomes, and oral carcinogenesis. He serves as Deputy Director of the Technology Transfer Office at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and heads the Cancer Research Initiative Cluster (COCRII). He is also an Honorary Senior Fellow at Melbourne Dental School, The University of Melbourne, Australia. His work actively focuses on translational research and product development, particularly in innovative oral care solutions
