ABOUT
ICLAS IX: Navigating Justice in the AI-Driven Society through Harmonisation of Laws
Background
This conference seeks to revive and continue the legacy of the past ICLAS series, strengthening its tradition of fostering dialogue and collaboration on contemporary legal issues that shape societies regionally and globally.
Entering its ninth series, ICLAS continues to serve as a platform for scholars and practitioners to deliberate on the evolving intersections of law and society. Earlier conferences have addressed critical issues such as human rights, Islamic law, and digital governance.
ICLAS IX continues this legacy by addressing the unique challenges posed by artificial intelligence (AI). The rapid adoption of AI in governance, law, and daily life requires a clear framework that ensures justice and fairness while respecting both Shariʿah and law. By situating AI within this dual legal framework, the conference seeks to advance discourse at the intersection of technology, ethics, and law.
Objectives of the Conference
- To address pertinent issues to law, social sciences and business practices.
- To generate ideas and writings on such issues.
- To create networking between academics and with professional bodies and beyond.
