Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and warm greetings to all.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On behalf of the Department of Civil Engineering, Kulliyyah of Engineering, International Islamic University Malaysia, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the 3rd International Conference on Civil Engineering for Sustainability and Disaster Resilience 2026 (ICCESDiRe’26), which is to be held on 8-9th September 2026 at the IIUM campus in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ICCESDiRe’26 is the flagship biennial conference of our department and an important component of the annual IIUM Engineering Congress organized by the Kulliyyah (faculty), which has brought together academics, researchers and practitioners from across the world since 2006. Building on the strength of our previous editions, this year’s conference convenes under the theme \u2018Ethical Engineering in Advancing Sustainability and Urban Resilience\u2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme reflects a belief, a conviction that to us is becoming increasingly urgent. As the world contends with climate change, rapid urbanisation and more frequent disasters, the civil engineer’s role has expanded well beyond the technical. We are now expected to design and build with a clear sense of responsibility; to the communities we serve, to future generations and to the environment that sustains us all. At IIUM, this responsibility resonates deeply with our vision of the engineer as a khalifah<\/em>, a trustee entrusted with the care of Allah\u2019s creations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this conference, we hope to create a space where these concerns can be engaged seriously and constructively. The programme will feature keynote addresses, technical paper presentations, a poster session, a STEM edu-tourism activity and post-conference workshops, covering a broad range of topics including climate change resilience, disaster risk management, sustainable construction materials, coastal zone management, resilient infrastructure and ethical engineering practice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This website serves as your central resource for all information related to ICCESDiRe’26, from submission guidelines and important dates to details on our keynote speakers, organizing committee and also programme. I warmly invite you to explore the pages available here and also urge you to seriously considering submitting your work and join us in Gombak this September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
